Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area Essentials

The Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area encompasses over 20,000 hectares across Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. This region is defined by dramatic limestone formations, including the natural arch at Broken Bay and the wave-sculpted cliffs of the south coast. The nutrient-rich waters support diverse coral reefs and serve as a primary habitat for Reef Manta Rays and oceanic sunfish, with dedicated cleaning stations at Manta Point and deep-water channels near Crystal Bay.
