Peaks and Viewpoints

This collection features prominent summits and observation points within the Northern and Middle Velebit mountain ranges near Senj. It includes Veliki Zavižan, home to Croatia’s highest meteorological station, and Šatorina, the tallest peak in Middle Velebit. These locations provide access to the 57-kilometer Premužić Trail and offer views spanning the Adriatic islands of Krk, Rab, and Pag, alongside the rugged karst interior of the Lika region.

Veliki Alan

Mountain pass at 1,414 meters featuring a mountain hut. It serves as a primary access point for the Premužić Trail in Northern Velebit.

Veliki Zavižan

Standing at 1,676 meters, this peak is part of the Northern Velebit National Park and is located adjacent to Croatia's oldest high-altitude weather station.

Šatorina

The highest peak of Middle Velebit at 1,624 meters. Known for its distinct shape, it offers views of the Adriatic Sea and the Lika plateau.

Vučjak

A 1,644-meter peak located just above the Zavižan mountain hut, providing a clear line of sight to the Kvarner Gulf islands.

Zečjak

A 1,622-meter peak in the Middle Velebit region, accessible via the Premužić Trail at the transition between the northern and central ranges.

Velika kosa

A 1,622-meter grassy peak located along the Premužić Trail, offering views of the Zavižan basin and the coast.
