Parks and Nature

Squamish’s natural landscape features a mix of freshwater lakes and riverside community parks. Alice Lake and Brohm Lake offer extensive trail networks through coastal rainforest, with opportunities for swimming and mountain biking. In the Brackendale area, Fisherman’s Park and Eagle Run Park provide access to the Squamish River, serving as prime locations for winter bald eagle viewing and salmon fishing. Cottonwood Park offers a quiet green space within the local neighborhood, connecting residents to the region's outdoor recreation corridors.

Alice Lake

Freshwater lake within a provincial park featuring four distinct hiking loops, a swimming beach, and mountain biking access. The area is surrounded by dense second-growth forest and includes dedicated campsites.

Brohm Lake

Located within an interpretive forest, this lake is bordered by granite cliffs and old-growth trees. It features a 7.5-kilometer trail network and several access points for swimming and paddleboarding.

Fisherman's Park

A riverside park on the Squamish River used primarily for salmon fishing and winter bald eagle viewing. It provides a staging area for river rafters and features gravel paths along the water.

Cottonwood Park

Small community green space in the Brackendale neighborhood featuring a children's playground and open lawn area.

Eagle Run Park

Situated along the Squamish River dike, this park serves as a key interpretive site for observing wintering bald eagles. It includes educational displays about the local ecosystem and the salmon lifecycle.
