Cartagena Essentials

Cartagena's 3,000-year history is anchored by the remarkably preserved Roman Theatre and the Roman Forum District, one of Spain's largest urban archaeological sites. The city's maritime identity is showcased at the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology and the Naval Museum, home to the pioneering 19th-century Isaac Peral submarine. Defensive history is visible at the Punic Wall remains, while Modernist architecture defines the Ayuntamiento.
