Glaciers and Lakes of Patagonia

This region of southern Patagonia encompasses the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the world’s third-largest continental ice mass. The list features the Perito Moreno Glacier, famous for its cyclic advances and dramatic ice ruptures into Lago Argentino. Other key sites include the Upsala and Viedma glaciers, which feed the turquoise waters of Lake Viedma and Lake San Martín. These landscapes are defined by deep glacial valleys, granite spires, and protected subantarctic forests within Los Glaciares National Park and the Magallanes Peninsula.
