Mavrovo National Park Essentials

Mavrovo National Park encompasses the highest peaks of the Korab massif and the Radika River canyon. This protected area features the 11th-century Saint Jovan Bigorski Monastery, renowned for its intricate wood-carved iconostasis. Visitors can explore the traditional stone architecture of mountain villages like Galichnik and Janche, or visit the partially submerged Old St. Nicholas Church in Mavrovo Lake. The park serves as a hub for both winter sports via its chair lifts and summer hiking to the summit of Mount Korab, the highest point in North Macedonia.
