Porto's essential walk: from the baroque Clérigos Tower and the tile-fronted Carmelite churches with their Hidden House, past the storied Livraria Lello bookshop, over to the grand civic square of Praça da Liberdade and the tiled halls of São Bento station, up to the Romanesque cathedral and the gilded Church of São Francisco, down through the medieval Ribeira waterfront, and across the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge to the port-wine quays of Vila Nova de Gaia.
