Salzkammergut Alpine Huts & Shelters
This collection features a selection of traditional mountain shelters and alpine inns throughout the Salzkammergut region. It includes high-altitude bases like the Adamekhütte at 2,196 meters, situated near the Dachstein glacier, alongside accessible mountain restaurants on the Tauplitzalm and Zwölferhorn. These huts serve as essential waypoints for multi-day treks through the Totes Gebirge and Höllengebirge, providing regional Upper Austrian and Styrian cuisine, dormitory-style sleeping quarters, and terraces with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Adamekhütte
High-alpine shelter at 2,196 meters managed by the ÖAV Section Austria. Located at the foot of the Gosau Glacier, it serves as the primary base for climbing the Hoher Dachstein.
Linzer Tauplitz-Haus
Category II alpine shelter operated by the ÖAV Section Linz. It is located on the Tauplitzalm plateau at an elevation of 1,638 meters.
