Ancient Ruins & Rock Art

The Souss-Massa region preserves a diverse archaeological record spanning from prehistoric rock art to medieval fortifications. This collection features the petroglyphs of Akka and Oued Tam, which depict ancient fauna and symbols etched into the desert landscape. Architectural highlights include the 16th-century Saadian ruins of Agadir Oufellah and the traditional fortified granary of Agadir Indonidif. Kasbaht Agadir Oufellah

Ruins of a 16th-century fortress built by the Saadian dynasty. Most of the structure was destroyed during the 1960 earthquake, but the original outer walls remain on the hilltop overlooking the modern city and bay.
