Żurrieq Essentials

Żurrieq, one of Malta's oldest settlements, is defined by its architectural heritage and rugged coastal landscape. This selection features the 18th-century Xarolla Windmill, one of the few restored working mills on the island, and the adjacent Paleo-Christian catacombs. Religious landmarks include the grand Baroque Parish Church of St. Catherine and the nearby Safi Parish Church. Il-Mitħna tax-Xarolla

Built in 1724 by Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena, this is one of the few restored windmills in Malta with its original mechanisms still intact and functional.
