Ålesund Essentials

Ålesund is defined by its unique Art Nouveau architecture, rebuilt in a unified style following the devastating fire of 1904. This selection covers the city's key landmarks, from the 418 steps leading to the Aksla viewpoint to the historic Molja lighthouse at the harbor entrance. Cultural highlights include the Jugendstilsenteret museum housed in a former pharmacy and the KUBE art museum. The list also features local history at the Ålesund and Fisheries museums, alongside the stone architecture of the main church.
