Historic Churches & Chapels
Berchtesgaden's religious heritage is defined by a diverse collection of sacred sites, ranging from the 15th-century Gothic Franziskanerkirche to the Neo-Gothic Christuskirche, the town's first Lutheran church built in 1899. The list includes the Baroque pilgrimage church of Maria Gern, famous for its ornate stucco work, and the Kalvarienberg, a 1760 Way of the Cross on the Kälberstein.
