Bohinj Essentials

Lakes and Waterfalls of Bohinj

The Bohinj Valley in the Julian Alps contains some of Slovenia's most significant water features. Lake Bohinj, the country's largest permanent lake, serves as the central landmark. Within the Triglav National Park, the Savica Waterfall drops 78 meters from a karst spring. Higher elevations in the Triglav Lakes Valley host alpine waters like Black Lake and Green Lake. The area also features the Mostnica Gorge with its terminal waterfall and the Grmečica waterfall near Nomenj, known for its deep pools and karst character.
