Central Balkan National Park protects the highest and most rugged sections of the Balkan Mountains in central Bulgaria. This selection highlights Botev Peak, the range's highest summit at 2,376 meters, and Raysko Praskalo, the highest waterfall in the Balkans at 124 meters. It also includes historical landmarks like the 4th-century Elenska Basilica and the medieval Anevo Fortress, alongside high-altitude monuments and essential mountain huts like Dobrila and Koza Stena that facilitate ridge-line trekking.
