Archaeological Treasures of Djursland

Djursland’s landscape preserves a dense concentration of prehistoric and medieval sites. This selection features the Neolithic Poskær Stenhus, Denmark's largest round barrow, alongside Bronze Age burial mounds like Agri Bavnehøj and Trehøje, which offer panoramic views from 137 meters above sea level. The list also includes strategic military history, from the 19th-century Olaf Ryes Skanser fortifications on the Helgenæs isthmus to the medieval castle remains at Eskjærtoft Voldsted.
