Beautiful Sandy Beaches

Located on the Atlantic coast of the Île de Ré, these beaches range from the sheltered waters of the Fier d’Ars to the wave-swept Côte Sauvage. The northern end features expansive sandbanks like the Banc de Bucheron, accessible at low tide, while the central isthmus at Le Martray offers narrow sandy stretches. Many locations are bordered by maritime pine forests and dunes, with historical landmarks like the Phare des Baleines providing a backdrop to the northernmost shores.
