Fremantle’s coastline features a variety of sandy environments ranging from historic inner-city shores to expansive northern stretches. Bathers Beach, situated near the Round House, marks the site of the colony's early whaling operations. South Beach offers sheltered swimming areas shaded by mature pine trees. To the north, Port Beach and Leighton Beach provide wide coastlines suitable for swimming and wind-powered water sports, with views extending toward Rottnest Island. Milo Beach offers a smaller, accessible sandy area within the Leighton precinct.
