Jericoacoara Essentials

Jericoacoara's landscape is defined by shifting sand dunes, crystalline lagoons, and a rugged coastline. This selection covers the central beach hub, the surfing waters of Praia da Malhada, and the freshwater hammocks of Lagoa do Paraíso. Key landmarks include the 1950s lighthouse situated on Serrote hill and the Poço da Princesa, a natural rock pool formed by the tides along the rocky shores leading toward the Pedra Furada rock formation.

Praia da Malhada

Located east of the village, this beach features strong waves suitable for surfing and natural rock pools accessible at low tide. It serves as the starting point for the coastal walking trail toward Pedra Furada.

Jericoacoara Beach

The village's primary beach is characterized by wide sandbanks and shallow waters. It is bordered by the Duna do Pôr do Sol and serves as a major center for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
