La Convencion Essentials

Explore the historical and natural landmarks of La Convención, a region defined by the final strongholds of the Inca Empire and the rugged Vilcabamba mountain range. This selection features Old Vilcabamba, the last capital of the Neo-Inca State, and the ritual Intihuatana stone. The list also highlights high-altitude peaks like Padreyoc and Veronica, alongside the Megantoni National Sanctuary, which protects the Pongo de Mainique canyon and the diverse ecosystems where the Andes meet the Amazon basin.
