Lorestan Province Essentials

Lorestan Province is defined by the rugged Zagros Mountains and a high concentration of waterfalls, including the 48-meter-high Bisheh. Its history spans from the Sassanid era, evidenced by the Falak-ol-Aflak Castle in Khorramabad and the ancient Pol Dokhtar Bridge. The region features diverse landscapes ranging from the moss-covered slopes of Makhmalkooh to the fertile agricultural valleys of Goldasht and Fial.
