This collection spans the archaeological landscape of the Matrouh Governorate, from the deep Sahara to the Mediterranean coastline. In Siwa Oasis, explore the 13th-century mud-brick Fort of Shali and the Temple of Amun, where Alexander the Great consulted the famous oracle. Along the coast, the ruins of Leucaspis and the Pharos of Abusir reveal the region's Greco-Roman maritime history, while the fortress at Zawiyet Umm el-Rakham marks the western frontier of the Ramesside Empire.
