Theatres & Performance

Naples boasts a rich theatrical tradition anchored by the 18th-century Teatro di San Carlo, Europe's oldest continuously active opera house. The city's performing arts scene spans from the neoclassical Teatro Mercadante and the ornate Teatro Bellini to modern venues like the Auditorium Domenico Scarlatti and the Palapartenope. These stages host a diverse range of productions, including Italian opera, classical concerts recorded for national radio, and contemporary cinema, reflecting centuries of cultural evolution within the historic center and the Mostra d'Oltremare complex.
