Piatra Craiului National Park is defined by the longest and highest limestone ridge in Romania, stretching over 25 kilometers. The landscape is characterized by vertical rock walls, massive scree slopes like Marele Grohotiș, and deep karst canyons including Prăpăstiile Zărneștilor. The area protects diverse flora, including the endemic Piatra Craiului carnation, and provides a network of technical hiking trails connecting peaks like Turnu and Ascuțit with valley attractions like Dâmbovicioara Cave.
