Patagonian Lakes

This collection of glacial lakes is situated in the Magallanes Region of southern Chile, primarily within or near the remote boundaries of Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. Fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, these bodies of water, including Lago Geikie and Lago Brush, often display distinct turquoise hues from suspended glacial silt. The surrounding landscape consists of primary subantarctic forests and granite massifs, providing a secluded habitat for native species like the southern huemul deer.
