Siracusa’s history spans over two millennia, centered on the limestone island of Ortigia and the expansive Neapolis Archaeological Park. The city features the 5th-century BC Temple of Apollo, a Baroque Cathedral built into the remains of an ancient Greek temple, and one of the largest Greek theatres in existence.
