Valencia's must-see sights in one walk, from Gothic city gates to Santiago Calatrava's gleaming white architecture. Starting at the Serranos Towers, the old northern gate on the former riverbank, you cross the medieval heart of the city: the Plaza de la Virgen and its centuries-old water court, the cathedral that guards a chalice venerated as the Holy Grail, and the UNESCO-listed Silk Exchange. Then come grand squares and Modernista markets, before the Turia Gardens lead you along the old riverbed to the City of Arts and Sciences. The walk starts at the Serranos Towers, a short stroll north of the cathedral.
