Zagori's Absolute Essentials

Located in the Pindus Mountains of Epirus, Zagori is defined by its dramatic limestone geology and 18th-century Ottoman architecture. The region centers on the Vikos Gorge, one of the world's deepest canyons, and the Vikos–Aoös National Park. This landscape is connected by a network of historic stone-arched bridges and the 'stone forest' rock formations. High-altitude features include the Drakolimni alpine lake and the Rogovos natural pools, while traditional stone villages offer access to numerous panoramic viewpoints.
