Ciutadella
Ciutadella (Ciutadella de Menorca) is a historic port town on the west coast of Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, and the island's capital until 1722. It has a Gothic cathedral, stone mansions, arcaded streets and a narrow harbour lined with restaurants.
Outside town are some of the best beaches in the Balearics, as well as prehistoric monuments and quiet coastal paths. It is a base for a beach-and-culture stay of several days.

Late May to June and September are the best times, with warm weather and fewer visitors. July and August are hot and busy, and the most popular coves are crowded. From November to March many hotels and restaurants close, but the island is quiet and green.
