From the historic Cabana Babele at 2,206 meters to the remote mountain rescue shelters near Lake Bucura, these sites serve as critical hubs for multi-day trekking. The list includes fully serviced alpine huts, basic shelters, and traditional sheepfolds (stâne), providing strategic bases for summiting major peaks like Omu or Peleaga.
Cabana Mălăiești
Situated in the Mălăiești glacial valley of the Bucegi Mountains at 1,720 meters. This historic hut is a key stop for routes ascending the northern slopes toward the Scara Ridge and Omu Peak.
