Tiranë’s landscape reflects a complex history, centered around the expansive Skanderbeg Square. The city features a blend of 18th-century Ottoman architecture, such as the Et’hem Bey Mosque, and early 20th-century Italian urban planning. Remnants of the communist era are prominent in the massive concrete Pyramid and the Bunk’Art museums—former nuclear shelters now housing historical exhibits.
