Tiranë Essentials

Tiranë’s landscape reflects a complex history, centered around the expansive Skanderbeg Square. The city features a blend of 18th-century Ottoman architecture, such as the Et’hem Bey Mosque, and early 20th-century Italian urban planning. Remnants of the communist era are prominent in the massive concrete Pyramid and the Bunk’Art museums—former nuclear shelters now housing historical exhibits. The New Bazaar and Tanners' Bridge provide a glimpse into traditional commerce and Ottoman-era infrastructure, while the Grand Park offers extensive green space around an artificial lake.
