Žilina’s historic core centers on Mariánske Square, distinguished by its unique arcaded townhouses and the Baroque Holy Trinity Cathedral. The city is home to the New Synagogue, a modernist landmark designed by Peter Behrens, and the medieval Budatín Castle, which houses a world-unique exhibition dedicated to the art of tinkering.
