Antequera’s landscape is defined by the UNESCO-listed Antequera Dolmens Site, featuring the prehistoric Menga, Viera, and El Romeral megalithic tombs. The city’s history spans from these Bronze Age structures to the 14th-century Moorish Alcazaba, a fortress built atop Roman ruins. South of the city, El Torcal de Antequera showcases surreal limestone karst formations and hiking trails. The nearby Caminito del Rey provides a narrow walkway pinned to the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge, while the Puerta de Estepa serves as a grand brick gateway to the historic center.
