Forts and Palaces of Kotor Bay

The Bay of Kotor’s landscape is defined by a layered defense system spanning centuries of Mediterranean history. This collection features the medieval Venetian walls of Kotor, Ottoman strongholds in Herceg Novi, and the sophisticated 19th-century Austro-Hungarian mountain batteries. Alongside these military structures stand the Baroque maritime palaces of Perast, built by wealthy captains to showcase the naval prosperity and architectural elegance of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Tvrđava Mamula

An Austro-Hungarian coastal battery on the Luštica Peninsula. It forms a strategic defensive triangle at the bay's entrance alongside Fort Mamula and Fort Prevlaka.

The Clock Tower
