Costa Rican Volcanoes

Guanacaste’s volcanic landscape is defined by the Cordillera de Guanacaste range, featuring both active and dormant peaks. The region includes Rincón de la Vieja, an active complex volcano known for geothermal activity like boiling mud pots and hot springs. Nearby, Tenorio and Miravalles offer diverse ecosystems, with Miravalles serving as a primary source for geothermal energy. These sites provide access to tropical dry forests, cloud forests, and unique geological formations, including the mineral-rich waters of the Rio Celeste near the Tenorio massif.

Cráter Von Seebach, Rincón de la Vieja
