Madeira's Natural Wonders

This collection highlights Madeira’s geological and coastal features: coastal and inland waterfalls fed by mountain streams, lava-formed caves in São Vicente, high sea-view lookouts over Porto Moniz, and two legally designated Special Areas of Conservation protecting the offshore islets of Porto Santo and the Desertas with important seabird colonies and marine habitats.

Protected archipelago reserve (Ilhas Desertas) preserving endemic flora, important seabird colonies and marine ecosystems; access is restricted under conservation rules.
