Historic Sacred Sites

North Jeolla’s spiritual landscape is defined by centuries of diverse religious tradition. This collection spans from 6th-century Buddhist mountain retreats like Naesosa and Seonunsa, known for their ancient forests and woodcarvings, to the early 20th-century Romanesque architecture of Jeondong Catholic Church. Naesosa

Established in 633 AD, this temple is famous for its 600-meter fir tree forest path and the intricate floral wood carvings on the doors of its main hall, Daeungjeon.
