Poros Essentials

Poros is characterized by its neoclassical waterfront, narrow sea channel, and dense pine forests. This selection covers the island's historical landmarks, including the 1927 clock tower and the 6th-century BC Temple of Poseidon. It also features the 19th-century Russian Naval Base ruins and the stone Dana Lighthouse. POROS CLOCK TOWER

Built in 1927 on the island's highest point, this neoclassical landmark offers 360-degree views of the Saronic Gulf and the Peloponnesian coast.

Dana Light House

A square stone lighthouse built in 1870 at the entrance of the Poros strait. It is accessible via a walking trail from Gerolimenas.

Stone ruins of a 19th-century naval station built to service the Russian Mediterranean fleet. The site is designated as a protected historical monument.

Poseidon Temple

Archaeological remains of a 6th-century BC Doric sanctuary. It served as a center for the Kalaurian Amphictyony and was the site where the orator Demosthenes sought asylum.

The island's largest organized beach, featuring a wide sandy shore lined with eucalyptus trees, located two kilometers from the main port.
