Vieste’s landscape is defined by the 25-meter Pizzomunno monolith and the medieval Castello Svevo, built by Frederick II. The historic center, perched on the San Francesco peninsula, features the 15th-century Church of San Francesco and panoramic belvederes overlooking the Adriatic. Along the coast, the Gargano National Park reveals geological landmarks like the natural arch at Baia San Felice, the sea caves of Grotta Sfondata, and the sheer white limestone cliffs of Vignanotica beach. Pizzomunno

This 25-meter-high white limestone monolith stands at the beginning of Spiaggia del Castello. According to local legend, it is the petrified remains of a young fisherman.

Castello Svevo

Constructed by Frederick II in 1242, this Swabian fortification sits on a limestone promontory. While primarily a military zone, its exterior and surrounding walls offer views of the coastline.

Vignanotica
