Vieste Essentials

Vieste’s landscape is defined by the 25-meter Pizzomunno monolith and the medieval Castello Svevo, built by Frederick II. The historic center, perched on the San Francesco peninsula, features the 15th-century Church of San Francesco and panoramic belvederes overlooking the Adriatic. Along the coast, the Gargano National Park reveals geological landmarks like the natural arch at Baia San Felice, the sea caves of Grotta Sfondata, and the sheer white limestone cliffs of Vignanotica beach. The town also hosts a significant malacological museum containing a vast global shell collection.
