Religious Heritage

Xàtiva’s religious landscape is defined by the monumental Basílica de Santa María, a Renaissance and Baroque collegiate church built over a former mosque. The collection includes the 13th-century Sant Feliu, one of the oldest churches in the Valencian Community, and the Gothic-Mudéjar Sant Pere where Pope Alexander VI was baptized. These sites, along with hilltop hermitages like Santa Anna and Sant Josep, showcase a transition from Romanesque foundations to ornate Gothic and Baroque architecture across the city's historical center.

Basílica Santa María La Seo

A massive collegiate church built between the 16th and 20th centuries on the site of a former mosque. It features a Renaissance facade, a 60-meter-high bell tower, and a museum housing a collection of Gothic altarpieces and silverwork.
