Alcobaça Essentials

Alcobaça is defined by its 12th-century Cistercian Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site housing the ornate tombs of Pedro and Inês de Castro. The town's medieval castle ruins overlook the urban center and its 19th-century Neo-Renaissance town hall. Along the Atlantic coast, the region features the traditional fishing shores of Nazaré and the high sand dunes of Salir do Porto.
