Top Diving Spots

Aqaba’s Red Sea coast features a unique combination of natural coral reefs and purposefully scuttled artificial reefs. This list includes the Cedar Pride, a Lebanese freighter sunk in 1985, and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. Shallow sites like the M42 Duster tank and the Japanese Gardens provide visibility of Gorgonian fan corals and hawksbill turtles at depths accessible to both snorkelers and scuba divers.

Japanese Gardens Coral Reefs

Shallow reef system known for large coral formations, Gorgonian fans, and frequent sightings of hawksbill turtles.

Gorgon 1

Dive site named for its large Gorgonian fan corals, featuring three distinct coral pinnacles and diverse reef fish populations.

Cedar Pride

Lebanese freighter scuttled in 1985. The wreck lies on its port side at depths between 7 and 25 meters, encrusted with soft corals.

Rainbow reef

Vibrant reef system starting at a depth of 6 meters, characterized by colorful soft corals and a submerged telecommunications cable.

Plane wreck

C-130 Hercules transport aircraft scuttled in 2017 to create an artificial reef. The plane rests at a depth of approximately 18 meters.

Cedar Pride Shipwreck

80-meter-long freighter scuttled in 1985 to form an artificial reef. The hull is accessible to divers of various experience levels.
