Kakheti's Crown Jewels

Kakheti is Georgia's premier wine-growing region, defined by the 11th-century Alaverdi Monastery and the 16th-century Gremi citadel. The fortified town of Sighnaghi features an extensive 18th-century wall with 28 defensive towers overlooking the Alazani Valley.
