Peaks and Alpine Huts
This collection spans the rugged limestone ridges of the Karavanks and the forested plateaus of the Pohorje Mountains. It highlights Stol, the highest peak of the Karavanks at 2,236 meters, alongside historic mountain lodges such as Ruše Lodge, established in 1907. These destinations provide a network of high-altitude shelters like the Bertahütte and Roblekov dom, which serve as essential bases for navigating the border between Slovenia and Austria.
A Bertahütte
Alpine shelter of the Austrian Alpine Club situated at 1,567 meters. The hut serves regional cuisine and provides a base for ascending the Mittagskogel.
B Stol
Stol or Hochstuhl, at 2,236 m, is the highest mountain of the Karawanks and straddles the border between Slovenia and Austria.
Black Peak
Black Peak is a mountain and the highest peak in the Pohorje or Bacher Mountains in Slovenia.
Grmovškov dom
Mountain lodge located at 1,371 meters on the Kope plateau. It serves as a central hub for the Pohorje hiking trails and the surrounding ski resort.
E Ruše Lodge
The Ruše Lodge, or the Tine Lodge at Areh is a mountain lodge in the Pohorje Mountains, built by locals in 1907.
F Roblekov dom
High-altitude lodge on the western ridge of Begunjščica at 1,657 meters. It overlooks the Julian Alps and the Sava Valley, providing shelter for Karavanks hikers.
G Prešeren Lodge at Stol
The Prešeren Lodge at Stol is a mountain hut on the southern side of Mt. Stol in the Karawanks, just below the peak of Little Stol.
H Ribnica Lodge
The Ribnica Lodge is the highest mountain lodge in the Pohorje Mountains.
Piramida
A 386-meter hill above Maribor, once the site of the city's 12th-century castle. It features a chapel built in 1821 and offers views over the Drava Valley.
J Golica
Golica is a peak in the Western Karawanks, on the border between Slovenia and Austria, above the Slovene town of Jesenice.
K Sveti Peter
A panoramic viewpoint above Begunje na Gorenjskem, home to a 16th-century church. The site overlooks the Radovljica plain and the Julian Alps.
L Hochobir
Hochobir, with its peak at 2,139 m, is the highest mountain in the Obir massif, located in the northern Karawanks range.
M Stol
Stol or Hochstuhl, at 2,236 m, is the highest mountain of the Karawanks and straddles the border between Slovenia and Austria.
