Ladysmith Siege Museum

Housed in a former market house built in 1884, this museum documents the 118-day siege through a collection of maps, artifacts, and photographs. It is a primary resource for Anglo-Boer War history in South Africa.

Ladysmith Town Hall

Completed in 1893, this Victorian building served as a hospital and storehouse during the 1899 siege. Its clock tower was famously damaged by a Boer 'Long Tom' shell during the conflict.

Sufi Mosque

Built in 1910 by Soofie Saheb, this mosque is a significant example of Islamic architecture. Located near the Klip River, it features ornate minarets and a distinctive green and white exterior.

Burgher Memorial

Situated on the Platrand ridge, this monument honors the Boer commandos who died during the Siege of Ladysmith and surrounding battles. The memorial lists the names of nearly 800 fallen burghers.

Platrand Lodge

Located on the historic Platrand hill, the site of the Battle of Wagon Hill. The lodge overlooks the town and serves as a gateway to the various memorials and battle sites along the ridge.
