Historic Monuments

The Limassol region preserves layers of Cypriot history, spanning from the Iron Age to the Venetian period. Significant sites include the ancient city-state of Kourion, known for its Greco-Roman theater, and the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates, a major religious center of antiquity. The medieval era is represented by Limassol Castle, a fortification housing the Cyprus Medieval Museum, and the Elia Medieval Bridge. In the Troödos foothills, the village of Omodos showcases traditional stone architecture and the historic Monastery of the Holy Cross.
