Within the historic center, the Guinigi Tower stands out for the ancient holm oaks growing on its summit, while the Torre delle Ore houses a manual winding clock mechanism dating to 1754. Nearby, the medieval fortress of Ripafratta once guarded the strategic border between Lucca and Pisa.
