Wetland and Bog Trails

This collection highlights the expansive peatlands and bogs characteristic of the Østerdalen landscape. These wetland ecosystems serve as critical habitats for diverse bird species and are known for producing cloudberries in late summer. During winter, many of these areas, such as those near Gåstjernet, host groomed cross-country ski trails, while summer offers soft-terrain hiking through birch-lined marshes and nutrient-rich fens.
