Nature and Views in Portalegre

The Portalegre District is defined by the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, where the highest peaks south of the Tagus reach 1,025 meters. This landscape marks a transition between Atlantic and Mediterranean ecosystems, featuring quartzite ridges and the dramatic Portas do Ródão river gorge.
